It has been MONTHS since I was on here! How is everyone? We have been busy this summer and fall with many, many changes in our house.
Meg is on a mission! She has been gone for three months and has been loving her new adventures and experiences. She is working very hard and has many investigators to meet with every day. We are so excited to get her letters and photos. She obviously doesn't have time to share everything with us but what she does, well, it all makes my heart leap! We are all so proud of her.
Madds started school for Dental Office. No teeth cleaning for her. She wants to make the appointments, do billing, filing and all the paperwork stuff! I am SOOOO proud of her!
Hunter loves being 14. His curfew just got a little longer and he has many friends to hang out with. He is taller than all of us but Jeff. He may pass Jeff this next year!
Jeff still loves school! And he is definitely more popular now than he was the first time he was in jr high!
I started another job working at a little craft and boutique store around the corner from our house. It has been nice to leave work and be DONE! They have very cute things there, so come see me!
We went to South Dakota this summer before Meg left. We drove a rental and stayed in a cabin just outside of Mt. Rushmore. It was fun to have a road trip and be together one last time. We saw real live prairie dogs, bison, elk, deer, squirrels, caves and huge mountains with people and horses carved into them! And lots and lots of road.
We all loved Mt. RushMOORE! but we loved Crazy Horse even more. Have you been there? Uh-maze-ing!
We saw the Minuteman Missile site. That was great. They had booklets of 1950's era bomb shelters that were very interesting to me. I just wish they had had an actual bomb shelter there! That would have been fun.

Maddie Moment...

I feel I will never feel relief until I tell you all about it. I saw this lovely couple when I was working yesterday at Costco in Bountiful. When I first saw him, I thought it was him but I didn't want to say anything if it wasn't. He took a sample of my granola bar when I finally got the courage to ask:
"Are you the Uchtdorf's?" Yes, my friend. His mouth was full.
So I asked his wife: "Is that President Uchtdorf?"
She said "Yes it is." It's like I forgot how to breathe. Here I was, in my ugly work uniform and standing in front of me was a General Authority with his wife. Did I ask him to shake my hand or sign anything for me? Nope. Did I tell him something clever about pilots or tell him I'm his biggest fan? Not that either. My brain couldn't think of anything better to say than:
"That is so COOL! Thanks for coming to our store!"
...
Seriously? He's more amazing than any movie star, in fact, he's a role model of mine and all I can think of is "Thanks"?
Anyways, he is just as handsome as he is on tv for General Conference and his wife is so beautiful. They do make a cute couple and I feel so privileged to have met them, even if I was a complete dork...

The Zoo
I just saw this cool video of a little boy playing with an otter at the zoo. It made me think of all the times I have been to the zoo and the highlight of the trip was watching the monkeys throwing poo!

It's Spring! It's Spri...It's SPRINTER?
Seriously, folks. Saturday was gorgeous and I got sunburned. I planted tomatoes, fixed the flat bike tire (with Jeff's assistance...hee hee hee), got freon in the A/C for the Joey car (also with Jeff's help) and chatted with half the neighbors on the street who were all out planting, weeding, mowing and fixing.
That was just three days after the hailstorm came to town on a Pecos Bill wind-tunnel and blew our fence down. It snapped the fence posts at the base and left us with cement in the ground and a wide open yard...now we need to mow the back yard every week because the entire neighborhood can see it!
So, Saturday...sunburn, tomatoes, bikes...yummy day.
This week...snow, sun, snow, rain.
Today...wind that wasn't quite Pecos Bill, but very close, (what was his girlfriend's name? Slue-foot Sue?), HAIL, and sunshine.
I love the weather in Utah. You just can't be bored with it. Maybe my flowers will survive and my 'maters won't freeze.
Some spring pictures I took on Saturday to remind me that summer is just around the corner. Right?:

Dear Maddie,
I hope you will always be happy and ALWAYS have a nice, warm sweater when you need it. I have sent an order to Crystl to have her make this one for you.

"Taking Chance" starring Kevin Bacon
It is very rare these days to hear or see someone showing respect for our country or our military. I came across this movie at the library and have been telling so many people about that I figured I should just mention it on here so you wouldn't forget to watch it!

Sheesh..
When I'm scheduled more than one day in a row, I like to stay at the Dalley's. That way I don't have to make the "oh so long" commute back and forth. This weekend, I walked into Lori's room where she and the kids were watching a movie. I didn't feel like watching a movie so I asked:
Hey does someone want to play a game with me?
Lincoln's response: Can't you see we're watching a movie?
... Guess I could go play solitaire or something... Haha
